This November we will be placing a special tag in a lucky sailfish. Why is this sailfish so lucky? Because whoever catches him will be the winner of One Million Dollars! A film crew, photographer and three witnesses will head out to catch, tag and release the lucky fish.We'll give all the teams a head start by providing the exact date, time, and location of the tag & release. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars teams can win in each tournament, the teams competeing in the Sailfish Kickoff and Mayor's Cup will aso have their shot at winning a cool million.

a. Fish must be caught wile abiding to all tournament rules.
b. Fish must be release unharmed and in good condition
c. If you catch a sailfish with a tag number begining in 079, call it in to the committee boat. You will be given instructions on a number to hold up, take a photo with the tag still inserted in the fish, and bring in the tag for verification.

1. Sailfish must be caught during the regular tournament hours of either the 2006 Sailfish Kickoff or the 2007 Mayor’s Cup. See each tournament’s individual rules for more details on fishing dates and times.
2. Team must be a pre-registered team in either tournament.
3. Team must be paid and in good standing.
4. Each member of the team must submit to a polygraph examination (see polygraph paragraph below)
5. Sailfish must be photographed with tag still inserted
6. Sailfish must be released unharmed and using the best conservation methods.
7. Tag will be compared to the original photo records for verification
8. Winner is responsible for all taxes.
9. US$1,000,000.00 is paid in yearly installments of US$50,000.00 per year for twenty (20) years.
10. Payments must be made to the same person for the length of the term.
11. Person receiving the payments must be a registered member of the team.
12. POLYGRAPH –Each registered angler specifically agrees and consents to voluntarily submit to a polygraph examination or examinations at any time until all prize winners and awards are determined and announced. Further, each registered angler agrees to obtain the agreement and consent of each and every occupant of the boat from which he or she fishes during the tournament (including but not limited to the captain and crew) to submit to a polygraph examination or examinations as described above. The method and conduct of all polygraph examinations, and the interpretation of the results thereof, shall be in the sole judgment of the polygraph examiner appointed by the Tournament, whose opinion shall be final. If any registered angler or occupant of a vessel refuses to submit to a polygraph examination, or if any registered angler or occupant gives a response which, in the sole opinion of the polygraph examiner, is untruthful, then all registered anglers on the boat shall be immediately disqualified without further notice from the Tournament. Any registered angler so disqualified shall not be entitled to any prize, award, or entry fee refund.
Tag and Verification Procedure
13. Sailfish will be caught, tagged, and released on or about mid-November 2006.
14. Tag insertion will be witnessed by 3 parties
15. Each witness will provide a sworn affidavit to the fact
16. The exact date, time, and location of the tag & release will be published on each tournament’s website.(www.sailfishkickoff.com and www.mayorscuptournament.com)
17. Submitted tag serial number must exactly match original tag serial number.
18. Decisions of the rules committee are final.
